Coming Around to Dahlias: Part 2

The dahlias that I potted up six months ago are now in full bloom in the garden, providing a welcome splash of colour as we head into autumn. Any flower that you’re encouraged to pick in order to prolong flowering is a good thing in my book and I’ve made the most of this by bringing a handful into the house every few days for the last couple of weeks.

The shocking pink of the ‘Karma Fushiana’ looks beautiful against the creamy peach pompoms of the ‘Café au Lait’ and and the intensely dark foliage of the ‘Twynings After Eight’.

These are unashamedly happy-looking flowers which can’t fail to brighten up any corner they’re in: hopefully the first frosts will hold off for a little longer so that I can pick a few more vasefuls before the year is out.
