Bean Feast

The various bean plants that I have been growing from seed for the last month or so have finally been planted out into the garden now that the warm weather has arrived. As well as the essential runner beans (‘White Lady’ in this instance), I have also planted two varieties of French bean, opting for ones that you wouldn’t expect to find in the supermarket, as I felt this would be more interesting:

On a less happy note, something has been eating the leaves on my strawberry plants. Not just nibbling, but devouring entire leaves, leaving just a few sorry-looking stalks in some cases. Cloches have duly gone on and local rabbits have been warned…
