We’re slowly easing ourselves back into our normal routine after what has been an amazing summer. We’ve been lucky enough to have quite a few adventures, including a last minute holiday to south-west France where we spent a week in a state of serious relaxation; sunbathing, reading and swimming was all we managed most days, with the odd visit to a market or restaurant thrown in for good measure. Like I say, it wasn’t exactly taxing.
Market days see the otherwise sleepy towns come alive and it was a joy to potter around with the camera snapping away in the sunshine; from the bright garlands festooning the streets in Beaumont-du-Périgord to the Friday morning market in Monségur’s main square, there was plenty of inspiration to be had.
The kids may be back at school and the fresher mornings a sign that autumn is on its way, but hopefully we can enjoy a few more bright summer days before the month is out.
