If you have plans for any redecorating projects in the New Year, then you may want to take a look at this preview of Little Greene’s ‘London Wallpapers III‘ collection that will officially launch at Maison & Objet in Paris next month.
Once again, Little Greene has raided the English Heritage archive for inspiration and has chosen seven long-forgotten historical designs that have been revived and updated for modern tastes. With subtle printed textures, the wallpapers are available in both classical and contemporary colourways and each coordinates with selected shades from Little Greene’s current paint palette.
The collection brilliantly demonstrates how historical designs need not be considered fusty or confined to grand houses. Through the judicious use of colour and accents, set alongside carefully chosen furniture and accessories, such heritage details can easily have a place within our more modest contemporary homes.
With designs ranging from the late 17th century to the turn of the 20th century, the stories behind each of the wallpapers are as fascinating as the designs are beautiful. If you fancy a little history lesson then it’s well worth following the Little Greene Blog as they reveal details of each wallpaper over the course of this week.
