Fancy a little armchair escapism? Then Byron View Farm Cottage in New South Wales, Australia might be just the ticket.
As the name suggests, this secluded retreat offers stunning 360 degree views across Byron Bay thanks to its lofty position. Guests don’t even have to leave the comfort of the sumptuous bed to watch the sun rise over the ocean, which sounds pretty darn idyllic to me.
The house belongs to Andrea Duff and Robert Schwamberg, who also run strangetrader, a design company. Their passion for interiors is evident throughout the cottage which is furnished in an eclectic mix of styles that work amazingly together. I’m very much looking forward to seeing more of their interiors projects in the future, once their site is up and running.
If I had to pick a favourite room in the cottage then I would be torn between the kitchen/dining area with its simple palette of white and natural wood, livened up with pops of acid yellow…
…and the bathroom with the amazing stone sink, subway tiles and black and white flooring. Understated simplicity at its best.
