The appearance of the sun this week made me dream of escaping to the coast. Ideally this would involve a long, lazy lunch of the freshest seafood, accompanied by a glass of perfectly chilled, pale pink rosé. Small fishing boats bobbing gently nearby would top the scene off nicely…
Some of my most memorable meals in recent years have featured seafood: from the delectable grilled oysters at the Crab House Café in Dorset, to moules marinières at Sams On The Beach in Cornwall, and kippers at The Ship Inn in Northumberland. There is something about eating fish right by the water that feels so very right.
If you can’t get to the coast any time soon, then this round-up of tableware might go some way towards bringing it to you.
